Features
Bold fully faired styling incorporates modern trends while embracing the identity of the GSX-R series, the GSX-10RS comes with a race-oriented graphics kit and solo seat cowl with winglets that match the Pearl Vigor Blue / Metallic Mystic Silver, paint scheme.
Powered by Suzuki’s iconic, long-stroke GSX-R-derived 999cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, inline-four engine has been further refined for the GSX-10RS.
The GSX-10RS’s Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.) suite employs 15 electronic control systems, including Cruise Control, assisting the rider across a variety of riding scenarios.
The GSX-10RS’s S.I.R.S. features Suzuki’s first-ever slide control system that detects lateral movement during cornering and enables natural turning with minimal intervention. Also new is a brake hold control system; unlike conventional hill hold systems that operate only on inclines, this new system functions on flat ground and downhill slopes as well.
The GSX-10RS’s twin-spar aluminum frame has been reinforced to accommodate spirited sports riding. Like the GSX-R1000R, the GSX-10RS’s sporty ergonomics are achieved by clip-on-style handlebars, a new sub-frame and seat, plus with footpeg brackets with increased rigidity.
The 43mm-diameter KYB inverted fork is fully adjustable, permitting rebound and compression damping force adjustment, plus spring preload. The spring preload and damping force is adjustable in the rear suspension, which includes a new swingarm, linkage, and the shock absorber that was developed specifically for the GSX-10RS.
An electronically controlled steering damper automatically increases damping at higher speeds and reduces it at slower speeds. To enhance cornering performance, the GSX-10RS’s steering stem offset has been changed to an equivalent to that of the GSX-R1000R.
Renowned for their performance and durability, Bridgestone BATTLAX HYPERSPORT S23 tires are fitted to the GSX-10RS. The rear tire size has been enlarged from the GSX-S1000’s 190/50ZR17 to 190/55ZR17, while the front remains 120/70ZR17.
The new radial front brake master cylinder plus a pair of Brembo mono-bloc four-piston radially mounted brake calipers grasp a pair of new, specially developed brake discs.
Lighting includes compact dual-beam projector LED headlight flanked by a pair of LED position lights that add a sharp, distinctive look accentuate the GSX-10RS’s front cowl. The combination LED taillight is similar in appearance to that of the GSX-R1000R. New LED turn signals feature a system that provides additional illumination around the motorcycle.
The lightweight and compact lithium-ion battery is standard and offers excellent reliability, durability, as well as a long service life (compared to a conventional, lead-acid battery). Mounted to the left dash is a type-C USB port, which can charge devices such as a smart phone or GPS.
Easy for riders to monitor the motorcycle’s operation, a new 4.2-inch Thin Film Transistor (TFT) instrument panel also help adjust the S.I.R.S. features. With a smartphone/data connection, and the Suzuki Ride Connect+ app, this TFT panel delivers added convenience—providing turn-by-turn navigation, notifications, weather updates, and other real-time alerts.
The long-stroke GSX-R engine is refined to produce a broad, smooth torque curve through the full rev-range with strong peak horsepower. This engine provides a predictable and controllable throttle response with abundant top-end power to provide the rider with an exciting and responsive riding experience.
The cam chain tensioner and new hydraulic tension adjuster use special materials to reduce sound, friction, and improve durability.
Suzuki’s Twin Swirl Combustion Chamber (TSCC) design is machined into the new cylinder head that, with the flat-top pistons, achieves an optimal 12.2:1 compression ratio that helps deliver a broad spread of power throughout the entire rev range.
Ride-by-Wire throttle bodies provide precise control for the new Cruise Control, plus the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS), Traction Control* (TC), and Bi-directional Quick Shift system (QS) and other S.I.R.S. systems.
Retaining the under-chassis design and engine note of the GSX-S1000 exhaust, the GSX-10R’s stainless steel, 4-2-1 exhaust system has redesigned muffler end cap.
The Suzuki Exhaust Tuning (SET) valve manages exhaust gas flow from the mid-chamber into the sculpted muffler to help create an exciting, distinctive sound.
The six-speed, close-ratio transmission features vertically staggered shafts to reduce overall engine length.
A unique shift position sensor sends shifter movement data to the ECM, so the Bi-directional Quick Shift system precisely responds to the rider’s actions. This design creates an exceptionally positive feeling at the shift lever during up- and down-shifts.
The latest generation of the Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) clutch is fitted to the GSX-10R. The SCAS clutch increases plate pressure under acceleration, yet acts as a slipper clutch to smooth the engine response during engine braking and corner entry.
The GSX-10RS features an advanced electronic control system: the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.). This suite incorporates an extensive array of electronic control systems. Adding the new Slide and Brake Hold Control features with Traction Control*, S.I.R.S. enables riders to confidently enjoy the GSX-10R's high-performance capabilities. S.I.R.S. Related Disclaimers:
*The Traction Control System is not a substitute for the rider’s throttle control. It cannot prevent loss of traction due to excessive speed when the rider enters a turn and/or applies the brakes. Neither can it prevent the front wheel from losing its grip.
**Depending on road surface conditions, such as wet, loose, or uneven roads, braking distance for an ABS-equipped vehicle may be longer than for a vehicle not equipped with ABS. ABS cannot prevent wheel skidding caused by braking while cornering. Please drive carefully and do not overly rely on ABS.
Suzuki’s proven, twin-spar aluminum frame design was reinforced to help ensure nimble handling and good road-holding ability. The main spars are straight from the steering head to the swingarm pivot; ideal for achieving high rigidity and light weight.
Inspired by the GSX-R1000R, the GSX-10RS’s new aluminum-alloy swingarm strikes a balance between reduced weight, high rigidity, and design, helping deliver excellent road-holding performance.
Designed for the GSX-10RS, the linkage-type rear suspension includes new swingarm, linkage, and the shock absorber. The shock offers adjustability for spring preload and rebound damping force.
The 43mm-diameter KYB supplied inverted fork is fully adjustable, allowing for the tuning of rebound and compression damping force, plus spring preload.
Mounted between the lower steering bracket and head of the frame is a new, electronically controlled steering damper. Controlled by the ECM, this damper automatically increases damping force at high road speeds and decreases it at low speeds, enhancing handling and smooth operation.
Unique to GSX-S1000 and the GSX-10R models, the TRP six-spoke, lightweight, cast aluminum wheels look great and contribute to the bike’s nimble handling and sporty performance.
Bridgestone BATTLAX HYPERSPORT S23 tires, renowned for their grip, quick warm-up, and high durability, are fitted to the GSX-10RS. On the GSX-10RS, the rear tire size has been changed from the GSX-S1000’s 190/50ZR17 to 190/55ZR17. The front size remains 120/70ZR17 on both models.
On the GSX-10RS, the rear tire size has been changed from the GSX-S1000’s 190/50ZR17 to 190/55ZR17. The front size remains 120/70ZR17 on both models.
The GSX-10RS has a new, radial front brake master cylinder that applies hydraulic pressure to a pair of Brembo Monobloc calipers with four 32mm opposed pistons that are radially mounted to the fork’s axle holders. Each caliper grasps a new fully floating 310mm brake rotor specially developed for the GSX-10RS.
A new subframe was designed to achieve a riding position suited to sport riding. The GSX-10RS riding position is optimized to support hand and foot control, and for the rider to fit to the motorcycle in a classic forward-leaning triangle geometry.
Like the GSX-R1000R, the GSX-10RS’s sporty riding position is achieved by clip-on-style handlebars and seat, plus footpeg brackets with increased rigidity.
The new seat has a flat profile from front to rear to facilitate fore-aft movement, with padding tuned for a softer feel compared to the GSX-R1000R. The seat balances ease of movement for sports riding with comfort for longer distances.
Accentuating the GSX-10RS’s aggressive appearance with a sharp, distinctive look, the dual-function LED projector headlight is flanked by a pair of LED position lights positioned near the air intakes in the nose of the front cowl.
The LED turn signals are in arrow-shaped housings that extend outward from the front cowl and rear fender. Suzuki’s Ground Beacon System (SGBS) turn signal system manages the amount of light hitting the road surface around the vehicle, to communicate the rider’s intended movement more clearly.
The rear combination light has a design that pays homage to the GSX-R1000R. It uses an internal transparent LED element that illuminates with a three-dimensional effect.
A lightweight and precise Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) provides six-direction, three-axis, motion and position information to the ECM, so instantaneous adjustments are made to the electronic rider assist features of the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.)
The GSX-10RS instrument panel uses a new, 4.2-inch, full-color TFT LCD screen.
This high-quality instrument panel is set into a dash on the inside of the upper cowl for good visibility and protection from road debris. The TFT panel features a scratch-resistant surface, and an anti-reflective coating that improves visibility in bright light.
